We are in the process of selecting special guest speakers from the business world to share their experiences with the European GS1 Community.

Monday, 15 October - Training's day

- Data Quality Training (Starts at 9.00 am)

Data Quality has been identified as one of the strategic pillars for GS1.  It is foundational in realizing the full benefits of GDSN and supports the B2C Trusted Source of Data and Health Care initiatives.

In this course, participants will acquire a fundamental understanding of data quality principles and the vision to achieve sustainable good quality data. They will also learn how to use and deploy the Data Quality Framework as an improvement tool for data quality processes and be given recommendations for the development of local support actions for their members based on the Data Quality Framework.

- Supply Chain Management Training (Starts at 9.00 am)

The Supply Chain Management (SCM) course aims at fulfilling the following objectives:

- To provide participants with a view of SCM from a managerial perspective and to help them in acquiring a good knowledge and understanding of the various elements of Supply Chain Management
- To help them in understanding the benefits related to SCM, the opportunities provided by e-commerce to improve SC efficiency and effectiveness
- To assist them in the identification of the issues related to building and implementing SCM solutions
- To understand how GS1 standards are fundamental to Supply Chain performance
- To learn how the vast suite of GS1's standards maximizes product and information flow in the supply chain thereby increasing efficiency and minimizing costs

Project Meetings:

1. GS1 in Europe Identification and Data Carrier Group Meeting

2. GS1 in Europe joint External Relations and eGovernment Meeting

The External Relations meeting aims at reviewing the status of GS1 in Europe external engagement in key policy areas such as transport & logistics, RFID/Internet of Things, product/food safety, EU standardisation policy reform and offer MOs the occasion to exchange experiences about their work in countries.
The meeting will start with a joint eGovernment – External Relations session, which will give MOs the opportunity to discuss regulatory aspects related to eProcurement, eInvoicing, and eIdentification, get an overview on the eGov initiatives where GS1 in EU staff is involved (like CEN, EC projects, new involvement in OpenPEPPOL, etc.). The session will also give colleagues the occasion to share experiences in how to introduce GS1 standards to their national public sector


3. GS1 in Europe Cash Handling Project Meeting

The main objective of the meeting is to share the experiences between NCBs (National Central Banks) and GS1 organizations.

Our main topics will be:
• Report of GS1 Cash team activities (guide, survey, work requests)
• Report of Central Bank GS1 User group activities (status of subgroups)
• Presentation of cash solution provider (tbd)
• Report of ECB – Data Exchange for Cash Handling (DECS)
• Report of NCBs on the national cash handling projects
• AOB (any other business)
• Next meeting

In addition to the agenda it is currently planned to organise a guided tour to the local cash center (to be confirmed later!)

4. Global MarCom Meeting

 Topics that will be addressed during the meeting:

• Marketing Plan 2012/2013
• B2C marketing strategy
• Visibility marketing campaign
• Marketing campaign for the GS1 bar code 40th anniversary
• Social media strategy
• Overview of available marketing toolkits (Order to Cash, Fresh Food, Solution Providers, Traceability, Bar Codes in Retail, Transport & Logistics)

• GS1 Brand Architecture


5. GS1 in Europe Data Quality and GDSN Steering Committee Meeting -  Note that the meeting is only for CEOs, GDSN Directors & invited guests!

Friday, 19 October - Project Meetings

1. eCom and eInvoicing Meeting (09.00 am - 01.00 pm)

The half day GS1 in Europe eGovernment – eInvoicing meeting will provide you with insights about the current status of work regarding the European Multi-Stakeholder Forum on eInvoicing and giving you an update on the national applications of the new VAT Directive. Focus will be put on the eInvoicing implementation status in each country and we will exchange on the tendencies to expect in the near future. Finally, we will be talking about the EANCOM® Harmonisation Project.

2. GS1 Logger for Staff Meeting (09.00 am - 01.00 pm)

The project meeting will provide an opportunity for the participants on the one hand to get familiar with the results of the one-year work on the other to discuss further plans for the upcoming year.

The agenda includes: 

    • Reviewing results
    • All the new features of Logger for Staff Application version 1.5
    • Using the new Logger website to increase efficiency in finding invalid GS1 GCPs
    • Discussing requirements to be developed
    • Plans for next year 

3. GS1 in Europe B2C/Mobile Com Group Meeting (09.00 am - 01.00 pm)

This session for MobileCom/B2C experts from European GS1 Member Organizations is intended to give an update on European activities, work on the harmonization of the European B2C infrastructure and better contribute at the global level.

The agenda includes:
• Sharing session – activities update among assisting MOs
• Update on the Data Aggregator Program analysis in Europe
• Update on the EU Regulation 1169/2011 and its impact on B2C TSD initiative in Europe
• Update on the global B2C TSD activities (GMSP Group, TSD Seal) and European GS1 MOs share in these activities
• Work on the European Data Aggregator r report
• Establish priorities and work plan for 2013

 

4. GS1 in Europe - Workshop on European Aggregator (09.00 - 12.00)

As there are still several European MOs which have not started theirs B2C projects yet, it was agreed in the GS1 in Europe B2C/Mobile Commerce Strategic Workshop on June 20, 2012 in Istanbul to explore the possibility to develop a common European data aggregator. This workshop will be a follow-up of this decision.
