Scope The European Healthcare Initiative actively promotes the utilization of GS1 standards and methods at all levels of healthcare supply chain processes. EHI is the competence centre for healthcare professionals, regulatory bodies and authorities in respect of standard identification and communication tools for a secure, effective and efficient supply chain. Healthcare is a focus branch of GS1 Global. GS1 standards could easily be applied in this industry but the very heterogeneous national legislations make it difficult to implement them reginally and globally. GS1 in Europe, within the frame of EHI, is determined to faciitate the implementation of GS1 standards and solutions in the healthcare sector
